Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to learn more about me.

I bring to this race more than 20 years experience advocating for children and families, at both the state and the national level. As an elected member of the Kyrene School District Governing Board for the last 10 years, I have helped make the district nationally recognized for its forward-thinking programs and its students' high academic performance. I also spearheaded budget initiatives that made Kyrene number one in similarly-sized Arizona school districts in terms of dollars being put directly into the classroom.

This experience, in addition to the leadership experience I gained as president of the Arizona School Boards Association, is what prompted me to run to represent District 20 in the Arizona House. The state faces numerous challenges that need to be met with intelligence, responsibility, and a bipartisan willingness to work with all sides at the capitol. Arizona remains 49th in school funding in the nation, a trend that must be reversed despite the current budget deficit and economic downturn. Crime rates must be diminished by attacking the root causes that lead to crime, especially among young people for whom other options must be available.
